Crappy drivers

I was under the impression that if there is a stop sign and oncoming traffic that I should stop. Thursday morning the driver of a Ford Astrostar thought that I was going to cruise through the stop sign and, when I didn't, rear-ended me and the nicest car I have ever owned. Although that's not saying much when you think of all the crappy cars I've driven. All the doors open on this one unlike the big blue wagon. "The Blue Herring" was the name Sara gave it. Or my last car, a VW fox that actually had parts held together with duct tape.

All I have now is a little Ford Focus but it's a trooper. Some bumper damage, bent tail-pipe, some other stuff that I don't know anything about but needs fixing. I sound like I'm driving a little dirt bike now. The other guy's van has a demolished front end and a cracked radiator. Maybe next time he'll hit the brakes when he is coming up on a stop sign. :)

must be expensive to have any kind of car in NYCity! Do you live in the center?

I live north of the city. The town's called Hastings-on-Hudson. There are actual trees, parks, and various other spots that aren't covered in concrete.
I still haven't driven in the city. Last time I was in a car there we were side-swiped by a cranky cabbie. I stick to walking, the subway, and, when I 'm lazy, it's freezing, or I'm wearing unsensible shoes, crazy cabs.

The sign did have a white border. So I guess it was my fault for stopping! :)
Only a little whiplash and a lovely forehead bruise that are all just about gone.

So sorry to hear the "perky" car was injured. Even more sad to hear that your head got bruised. No brain damage I hope...

DId you know that if you are a biker that you don't actually have to stop at stop signs either? Or at least that is what Ryan claims...too bad the cop sitting at the interesection didn't agree and gave him a $200+ fine. Apparently slowing down is important but if it is the vehicle's (next to you)turn to go you should be able to bust on through, I guess all laws should be debatable? SIGH... we should check with Cindy on that... :)
Glad your okay.
Cindy mentioned brain damage...I won't even touch that one :)
